Rainy-day games for a small dog in a Tbilisi apartment without annoying downstairs neighbours

By Zoe A. · HAV HAV· 7 Aug 2026, 10:32

Throwing a ball down a corridor is not ideal when the floor is hard and somebody lives below. What quiet activities actually hold attention: scent searches, cardboard puzzles, short training, food toys or a covered balcony? Add the dog's size and how long the activity remains interesting. Avoid unsafe DIY materials. Topic prepared by the HAV HAV Community team. Add first-hand details and keep private addresses and personal data out of public replies.

Supervise improvised puzzles and remove anything the dog starts tearing or swallowing.

In old flats, rugs help with both grip and sound. Just make sure the game does not turn into sprinting between rooms.

Sniffing for a familiar toy in two rooms was surprisingly tiring for a small dog without making much noise.

Several three-minute sessions worked better for us than trying to replace a whole walk with one long indoor game.

Hiding a few pieces of the normal meal in folded towels is quieter than jumping games and does not require buying anything.
