Senior dog in a Tbilisi high-rise: what is your plan when the lift stops?

By Sophie M. · HAV HAV· 24 Jul 2026, 14:27

A flat on the 15th floor feels fine until the lift is out and a 20 kg dog cannot manage the stairs. Owners and carers, what backup do you use: a second lift, carrying harness, neighbour, shorter downstairs stay, or refusing certain buildings? Add dog size and neighbourhood. This is about realistic planning, not shaming people for where they live. Research thread started by the HAV HAV Community team. Please add recent, first-hand details rather than advertising.

Some newer towers have several lifts but long waits. Mention whether the issue is failure, crowding or the dog fearing the lift.

Carrying harness recommendations would help, but add the dog's weight and where you bought it locally.

For care profiles, lift access should be described accurately. A checked box is not enough if access is unreliable.
