Dog barking in a Tbilisi apartment: what helped before the neighbours lost patience?

By Julia C. · HAV HAV· 27 Jul 2026, 04:43

Apartment walls, lifts and hallway noise can turn a quiet dog into a different animal after a move. What did you change first: recording the trigger, shorter absences, a sitter, sound near the door, training, or speaking to neighbours? Add the building type, neighbourhood and how long the dog had been there. We are looking for practical steps, not punishment or miracle gadgets. Discussion started by the HAV HAV Community team. Add recent, first-hand details; businesses may reply transparently, but disguised advertising will be removed.

It would help to separate barking when alone from barking at the lift or front door. They can look identical to the neighbour and need very different plans.

Share humane management and qualified training options. Advice involving shock, pain or intimidation will be removed.

If you spoke to neighbours, did a shared chat or a note work better? Please do not post a neighbour's name or flat number.
